Support Through Presence

The following article I found via Higher Awareness rings true to me now more than ever. I thank those that this applies to in my life, and I appreciate you :) May we all experience this and give this to those in need… Presence

Support others with your presence

“The purpose of therapy is not to remove suffering but TO MOVE THROUGH IT to an enlarged consciousness that can sustain the polarity of painful opposites.”

– James Hollis

How do we support others who are suffering?

When we understand how soul works through us, we begin to see how pain generates the impulse to change. We see that our aim in supporting someone is NOT to get rid of their pain and suffering. Instead, we want to assist them to understand what the pain is trying to teach them — to find meaning in their distress.

Often, all we need do is be fully present to them. It also helps to be present to our own experience and genuine in our feelings. Living our own truth helps create the space for the other person to live theirs.

“The first duty of love is to listen.”

– Paul Tillich

“With the gift of listening comes the gift of healing.”

– Catherine de Hueck Doherty

Life-Enriching Quotes

“Don’t take anything personally. Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves.”

- Don Miguel Ruiz, is a best-selling author and speaker.

“Your worst enemy cannot harm you

As much as your own thoughts, unguarded.

But once mastered,

No one can help you as much,

Not even your father or your mother.”

- Buddha, central figure in Buddhism.

“Suffering is not holding you. You are holding suffering. When you become good at the art of letting sufferings go, then you’ll come to realize how unnecessary it was for you to drag those burdens around with you. You’ll see that no one else other than you was responsible. The truth is that existence wants your life to become a festival.”

- Osho, was an Indian mystic and teacher.

I hope you can find blessings & hope in these quotes- I did! Let go of what’s holding you and you’ll see that it will let go of you too, because the only thing capable of holding on is you. Move past your circumstance and into your blessings!

Lovingly,

Gossiper

Single & The City

Been a minute since I wrote for this column! I actually was considering retiring it because I mean really, what could I say every month about love, relationships, and dating? A bit redundant don’t ya think?!

Being single (in the unmarried phase) is a constant learning lesson. Dating is like Marriage Bootcamp in a way (Hmmm, I think I’ve said that before in an older blog- see, redundant!). What I am learning is that being in a relationship is more than just loving that person. A relationship takes more than merely love to make it work. Love is a needed puzzle piece, but it’s crucial to also have communication, trust, friendship, respect, and purpose. Purpose being something that I’ve recently opened my eyes to through this video of Will & Jada on Oprah talking about the “Business of Marriage.” Peep the video below:

Love & Relationships are not for the weary, that’s for sure! :)

A Word From Our LifeMAP

Another great article from LifeMap Consulting! This time Michele addresses those bills, Bills, and more BILLS that have piled up and is threatening our future. See the whole blog here; snippets are below!

Working in a bank for the past 15 years has opened my eyes to a lot of things and one of them, sadly, is that some people can’t (or won’t) pay their bills.

And what’s really sad is that some of these choices were made when they were younger and now that they are older and need to do “grown up” things, their past has come back to haunt them.

Not paying your bills causes you trouble on so many fronts. It keeps your from getting favorable rates and deals. It requires you to put down higher deposits for utilities and other services.

Now if you have found yourself in the position where things aren’t looking so good, don’t fret. You can work on it. First, face it. It’s yours. You did it, so own up to it.

Visit LifeMapConsulting.Blogspot.com and become a follower of the blog- Good tips & help that we can ALL benefit from!

Be Blessed & May You be FINANCIALLY secure! :)

Dig In!

I’m about to dig into this Word because that’s the only thing that keeps me. Keeps me in the time of trouble. Keeps me in spite of my insecurities & doubts. Keeps me during the cold & lonely nights, and the dreadful & weary days. Keeps me still when everything around me is so busy. Keeps me sane when I feel like I am slowly & surely losing my mind. A Word From Our LifeMAP!

Here’s another snippet from LifeMAP Consulting:

Excerpt 1:

The Contemporary Gospel Duo, Mary Mary, has a track on their new CD that is titled “Are You Ready?”. The song talks about two people who have dreams to move out of their current lives into something bigger and better. The question that is presented asks, “But are you ready? Are you ready? You talk about it every day and you’ve got a lot to say. But are you ready? Are you ready? Gonna take a lot of preparation to reach your destination.”

Excerpt 2:

Your goal may not be paying off bills. It might be trying to get out of the hood. It might be going to college and obtaining your degree. It might be getting a better job. Whatever your goal may be, at some point, you have to stop talking about it and start being about it.

Enjoy the rest here!

Your Choice!

“It is always your next move.”

– Napoleon Hill

The great benefit of heightened awareness is that we have more choice in how we live our lives. At any moment, we can purposefully choose a new experience for ourselves. We can choose to pay attention, breathe more deeply, laugh, rest, play, appreciate, do something different – the possibilities are endless. Keep reading »

Rest In Peace

There has been some devastating losses in the Oklahoma City & Langston University community. I am at a loss for words by the special people we have lost (2 of which that I was afforded the opportunity to know personally), but keep in mind, they have gone home to be with our King & Savior- Jesus Christ.

Mr. James Olee, Mrs. Clara Luper & Joshua Griffin– Now all angels smiling down on us.

I am of little words right now, but just want to share a few quotes that seem fitting as I close out:

Learn to cherish your friends and the great people you come across… You never know when the Lord needs them…

The lucky ones get to tell their loved ones they love them one last time before they’ll see them no more… Everyone can’t be so blessed. Appreciate LOVE while you still can.

Appreciate the things you have now, cause some time they’ll be gone and you’ll regret why you let them go

If you can do one thing today, do it for someone else.

There’s no re-do’s in life, just this moment… It’ll be gone in a flash, make the most of it
