“One word frees us from the weight and pain of life; that word is love.” –Sophocles
There was a study done that explores certain affirmations that were missing or lacking in our childhood. The absence of these words may be at the heart of our most basic fear; unconsciously we may still be seeking to hear these words from others.

So I am still on this journey trying to become a better person and wife. Life is all about change and learning and so far I am enjoying learning more about my role and changing for the better. I recently celebrated my one year wedding anniversary and it felt great. Keep reading »
In efforts to change things up a bit, and to also not turn my precious column into a monthly bitter rant on the ups & downs, ins & outs of being single, I am going to share some tips, advice, and commentary from outside sources on topics relating to singles! I see nothing wrong with a man doing all of those things, in fact, I encourage females to have high standards and expect that from a man. The one thing that does trouble me is for some females the lines of communication got mixed up or the channel got cut off when that motherly figure spoke about “How a Woman Should Treat a Man.”
Do you ever get so overwhelmed with stuff that you feel like you are about to “checkout?” By checkout I mean like you are so swamped by life that you can’t reach the shore. I am at the point that I feel it’s checkout time. Something has got to go; something needs to be released in my life. I have a million things to do and accomplish with not enough time to do so. I look at my calendar and it’s nuts, then I look at my alignment of my life and its direction and it’s complex. Keep reading »
