I just want to apologize because I have not blogged ONE bit for the past (don’t even count the days). BUT, my excuse is that I recently moved back to my home state of California, and things have been crazy. I don’t know who all has missed G.S. Blogs, but I hope there’s still some fans out there! Not only do I write these inspirational blogs for your eyes, but I write them for myself as well because it is really therapeutic. Things get crazy, but I feel really bad that I neglected to send out encouragement and uplifting words in the midst of it all. I’m back- Gossiper is back! I honestly can’t commit to full-time blogging RIGHT NOW, but slowly and surely I will be back to multiple-times-a-week posting. Lord willing! If you are reading this via Facebook, please just hit the “like” button, let me see you out there. If you are on the website make a smiley face in the comment box! And Twitter readers, RETWEET. I’m back, so let me see that you are back too!

Dr. Love has a column on GS, in which previously was designed  for women to ask relationship questions directed towards a Christian young man anonymously in order to gain useful & inspirational insight. While the column will still be looked at as the same tool, we want you to know that Dr. Love isn’t the just the “doctor” for strictly love woes. Over the time that the column began our column specialist has offered insight on many issues of life, rather it be relationships or friendships; rather it was asked from a woman or man, he has done so in a very loving way. Therefore, let’s look at this Advice Column as more than a relationship question column, but as a place where you can receive insight from a male’s perspective in the most loving & respectful way possible.

GS is a safe environment for young adults (men and women) to come and receive inspiration and share testimonies with one another; so let’s engage!

It is with such pleasure that GS celebrate its one year anniversary. When Gossiper and I started it was merely a vision. I told her of an idea I had to start an inspirational website and she took the idea and ran with it, becoming the IT/Marketing/Networking/Creative force behind it.  Since the launching one year ago, we have Mr. I.N.S.P.I.R.E. a man telling us what we need to hear and not want to hear, a Love Doctor answering all of our steamy love and relationship questions, and weekly and monthly inspirational columns from your own Miss Gossip and Gossiper. The Bizness Connection page is a free opportunity to promote your business and The Forum is dedicated to women of all races where you can come network, support, and be encouraged by other women. I am so proud and honored to be a partner in the GS movement, an inspirational site where God’s word reigns, and I look forward to the many endeavors GS will offer this 2010 year!

Doesn’t seem like a year has passed already from the day Miss Gossip shared her vision of starting G.O.S.S.I.P. Sister with me. It wasn’t my idea but it made perfect sense. I had got laid off during the creation process so all the free time I had I dove right into creating and building this website. It was all I wanted to do. Day and night I was up orchestrating the collaboration of Miss Gossip’s and my ideas. Watching GS evolve over this past year has been a blessing. When I blog and share inspirational pieces, not only am I trying to inspire and impact others, but I also receive a blessing as well! G.O.S.S.I.P. is more than a weblog, it’s a brand; and you will understand that in this new year as we step out beyond the computer and reach out into our communities with a hands-on approach. Mr. I.N.S.P.I.R.E. was born on a military base in Ft. Campbell bordering Tennessee and Kentucky, and then moved to Lawton, Oklahoma at a young age. Graduating from Langston University with a Bachelor’s Degree, he is now pursuing his MBA in aspirations to become a financially independent entrepreneur. Helping others is a major part of his life as well as his faith.

Through A Man’s Eyes… is designed to uplift and encourage women everywhere from a male’s perspective. We encourage a co-ed environment to tune in and enjoy the column and seek understanding and knowledge on top of inspiration and motivation.

Women are very strong creatures as you all definitely can attest to that.  We’ve been raised to be the backbone in times of adversity, and my generation has been raised to pride ourselves off being totally independent- get your degree, get your job, make your own money, provide for yourself, and the golden rule “DON’T RELY ON NO MAN TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!” Haha, it’s almost drilled into our heads with song after song as well (just listen to half the songs on the radio!)  Steve stresses many times throughout the book that men have 3 particular ways of showing their love for a woman: “professing, providing, and protecting.”  If we take away from all that then they don’t see a reason to be around; obviously we don’t need them.  Of course a man doesn’t mind if we have ourselves fully together, and they’d probably prefer you do, but Steve points out that if a man doesn’t have a chance to “exhibit his ability to provide or protect, then how can he possibly see himself professing his love to a woman who has not allowed him to feel like a man?”

I think a lot of times, as women, we think being dependent in any form is showing a sign of weakness.  If we express a need for anything then we’d feel in debt to a man or weak; maybe I’m just speaking for myself.  If I can’t do it for myself, supply it on my own, or have full control of my situation then I feel weak and vulnerable; I am not comfortable with that.  So instead, we listen to Webbie (I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T), Destiny’s Child (All my women who independent, throw yo hands up at me!), and Ne-Yo (That’s why I love her ’cause she got her own), we put our head up in the sky and let a good man pass us by, because “I don’t need nothing or no man to take care of me!”  Don’t get me wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with having yourself together and having your own, but don’t be afraid to allow a man to be a man!  It’s in a man’s DNA to feel needed and appreciated in a relationship (Steve said it, not me!)  So I believe it’s possible to fulfill that need by coming down from my high horse for a moment in time and allow the man’s gateway to open up to profess, protect, and provide.  Everyone knows how strong, independent, and successful you are as a woman; people around you see it, and so does your man- so what else are you trying to prove?

I absolutely loved the book and I can’t stop ramping and raving about it so it was only a matter of time until I blogged on at least one chapter; and I believe that chapter was a perfect subject for G.O.S.S.I.P.

Who can get the most referrals?!

It’s a race to see who can get the most members to register with G.O.S.S.I.P. Sister’s Open Forum. Whoever gains the most new members to register to the forum will win a lucrative gift of their choice!

Contest Rules:

1. You cannot make up different email accounts and pose as new members

2. The new members are required to complete full registration on the forum

3. Referred members have to be registered within the contest time frame (February 18^th-March 4^th) to count towards the contest scoreboard

4. You have to be a member of the forum to refer another member

Upon the closing of the contest March 4^th, 11:59 pm est, we will tally up which G.O.S.S.I.P.
