Adversity Is…
I found another website that I have been reading different lessons off of and I really enjoy it; it’s called www.Bible.org. Aimlessly clicking my computer’s mouse around I came across the article titled “Delight in the Midst of Disaster,” by Keith Krell. It was packed with so much substance. I took out key points that moved me to share and I was able to apply the teachings to my life. After you read my excerpts, read the full article here, and I encourage you to continue to ask yourself- “Is what’s happening to me accomplishing something for God? Is it furthering His purposes in the world?”
Key points:
Adversity advances God’s kingdom.
There are no mistakes or coincidences.
God has a plan and He is advancing His kingdom through YOU.
The world wants to know how Christians will respond in suffering. When you trust in the midst of adverstiy the gospel advances in and through you.
Adversity reveals your priorities.
In the midst of trials and suffering, you find out what is really important to you. Adversity serves as a true gut check.
My Accomplishment:
Through a recent event in my life I have learned that God wanted me to discover hands-on what REAL love is. I could only do that by seeking God’s word in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (“Love is…”). As of late I have learned to seek His word for ALL my problems because I’ve come to find that it has ALL the answers. The more I know, the more confident I am to talk of what I know; and the more I talk of what I know, the more I can empower and encourage God’s people through the word.
So ask yourself-Is what’s happening to me accomplishing something for God? Is it furthering His purposes in the world?
Be Blessed
