YOU CAN DO IT!

I went to an event called Motivational Mondays and had the pleasure to hear Mrs. Tawana Williams speak. Mrs. Williams is a motivational speaker whose platform is Unarmed but Dangerous. Tawana was born without arms and spent the first four years of her life at the Duke Cerebral Palsy Hospital. She went on to say the doctors told her mom she wouldn’t live to be two weeks old, and if she did she would never walk or bare children. Tawana will be 47 in two weeks and have a biological daughter and two grandsons. She travels all around the world speaking to children and adults. She has a zero tolerance for negative people and distractions. She was told by her grandmother at the tender age of four that if God didn’t give you arms you don’t need them. She was born with everything she needs to be successful inside of her.

She went on to say if she can do anything she set her mind to WITHOUT arms she has a low tolerance for people who complains and come up with excuses. She is living a fulfilled life and said sometimes she feels sorry for “normal” people. Two things that she said that stood out to me one was, if you are not focused on what you are trying to do, everything you don’t want to happen will and think it and do it but don’t talk about it because talking about it too much can allow you to talk yourself out of it OR have someone else talk you out of it. Dream big, only YOU can stop YOU! On top of being an awesome motivational speaker, she is an author, singer, and artist. I purchased a beautiful picture she drew WITH HER FEET!!! Over all I was pumped up when I left Monday because if she has everything she needs to be successful I must have everything I need to be successful too. I learned it is not physical but rather mental. We have to BELIEVE we can. It comes from within us that we are able to accomplish our dreams. If you have a chance please pick up her book Unarmed but Dangerous by visiting www.tawanawilliams.com and leave all excuses at the door starting now. YOU CAN DO IT! Until next time…

Be Blessed
