Through A Man’s Eyes…
It is for you or its not!
We have the tendency to hold on to things that we know we shouldn’t be holding on to. Whether it’s those pairs of shoes in your closet that you haven’t worn in 3 years, but you have them just in case; or what about the clothes that has no business being in your possession for various reasons (i.e. can’t fit them anymore, lol); or even friends that really have no uplift in your life, and oh and yes, that significant other that you can’t seem to let go of.
All of those things you know in your heart has come to a point where they need to be relieved of their duties, and yet we keep them around even when they have no more value in our life. I heard that in life the only way we can truly achieve our goals is to first make sacrifices. It says in 1Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ at passover is sacrificed for us. The word sacrifice means to get rid of something in order to gain for something else that is better. Even God made a sacrifice- He gave us Christ. So when we hold on to things we are limiting ourselves to better our circumstances.
If someone told you that if you get rid of your old junked up car you will be blessed with a brand new car of your dreams, you would think of course I’ll take that deal, but the sad thing is a lot of us will stick to the ol’ raggedy car anyway. For reasons of you being attached to it- all the memories you shared, and even because you feel you’re not ready for something new-what you may not know is every time you drive that car it devalues the true person you are; it becomes more of a hassle for you, and honestly that car may be better suited for someone else than you- and that’s OK! If you’re not satisfied with what you have now, you have to believe that God has something better than what you have in your current situation. That’s when it is okay to let those things go and don’t have to worry about what will happen to it. When you work for the Lord, I promise He will work for you! What God had for you might not be for you anymore, but what He has and will have for you will be AMAZINGLY better!

I feel Mr. I.N.S.P.I.R.E. is right on target with this blog. So many of us men and women, hold onto things that no longer are for us… I guess, we seem to think that if we ‘let go’ we somehow lose out on a piece of ourselves. But in reality, we are allowing ourselves to gain by moving onto the bigger and brighter. I can speak from personal experience by saying, yes, it is better to let go. Let go and let God take over.

I can relate to what Mr. I.N.S.P.I.R.E. is saying in this blog all to well. I am afraid of change and often fight it even when I know/feel that is the best thing for me. Holding on the past is one of my biggest faults and this blog has inspired me to really let go and let God take control of my past, present, and future. Trying to fix my life on my own has been to much work and gotten me no where and I know that it is all for a reason, God wants us to trust what he is doing with all of our heart.

Wow …. I love when you write blogs even tho I am a little late on this one!! I struggled with this about 3 months ago and I was afraid of what God was going to do. I finally let go and let God and now I couldn’t be happier. I tend to stay in relationships because, I am comfortable and I believe that we can make it work even when I know this just aint gonna work! For some reason letting go and allowing God seems like the hardest thing to do but, oh it is so the EASIEST!! Thank you so much for this to reminder so that when I am in this situation again I know exactly what to do! We can not figure out God but, we sure can listen! …
Love ya
