Happy Love’s Day

It’s Valentine’s Day- Hallmark’s day for expressing your love for another. A day carved out to shower your loved one with gifts, ooh’s & aah’s, and show them how much you really care. A word often said in vain, out of ignorance, or confusion- and even as short as the word is with just 4 letters-LOVE holds great power; but how many of us really know what it means?

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)

Love is much too complex and delicate to be throwing it around any kind of way. As we grow, we begin to learn more and more what love feels like, and what it means to us, but we tend to lose interest on what it actually IS and how to exemplify characteristics of it. You can’t be called a “loving” person if you don’t carry the characteristics of love. Taking to heart the above scripture, and really the whole 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians (it’s a short chapter), could be one of the top life-changing decisions someone can make. It positively enhances your day to day interactions with all your loved ones and even strangers in passing by. Give Love. Share Love. Receive Love. Experience Love. BE LOVE.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Be Blessed
