Presentation
Ok so I was watching the Cosby Show the other day and it was the episode where Vanessa brought Dabnes home. Bill said I am sure you are a very nice guy but the way she presented you to us is not appealing. He gave this example: Imagine going to a 5 star restaurant and ordering a nice big steak, sautéed vegetables, and hot mashed potatoes with gravy. He said now imagine as they walk over with her delicious meal they stop, pick up a garbage can lid, put your food on it, and serve it to you. His point was the food could have been the best in the world, but the way it was presented made it unappetizing.
We can apply this same example to our daily lives. How are we presenting ourselves to others? As “Christians” when in the company of others are we presenting ourselves as such? When we leave their presence do we also leave an unpleasant thought? Being a true Christian is one of the hardest jobs on Earth. We are not perfect nor should we proclaim to be, however; we can continue to try and strive to be better.
In everyday life are we putting our best foot forward. I know as a recruiter many times people are judged simply on the presentation of their resume. Some candidate may not be qualified however they present themselves to be; while others may be qualified but their resume is less impressive. Even in interviews if you are come well presented 9 times out of 10 we will conduct the entire interview however if you come wrinkled, dirty, or smelly, qualified or not the interview will be cut short because we already know you are not a person we want representing us. Presentation be it good or bad is a reflection of something. If you own your own business poor presentation will reflect your business etc. In everything we do, present our best because it is an ultimate reflection of us. Until Next time…

Good point for people to think about! I don’t think enough people take this seriously enough… Presentation is a lasting impression. It’s more than a first impression, but like a first impression, you can’t redo it, and although you may try to redeem yourself, it’s a lasting thought engraved in someone’s mind. So anyone reading please remember to fine-tune your presentation and pass on to alert someone else!
