I have agreed to go on a blind date next week. What are some topics I can talk about to keep a man interested in conversation? – Preparing

Dr. Love:

Well going on a blind date is not something you can really prepare for. I think your best objective is talk about this week’s news topic and see his train of thoughts. Going on blind dates is like an interview, but if the person is not answering the questions right then the interview is cut short. You might not be interested in this person and the date will not last 10 minutes. The reality is it’s his job to keep you interested and if he has conversation then you will have a good night.

My little brother is turning 21. What kind of gift would be appropriate? I usually pick out things he would never use or buy so I need a mans opinion. Thanks, Gift Giver.

You can never go wrong with cash or a gift card. It is not wise to buy him clothes that you think looks good or cologne either. I would not be the one to buy him a bottle of alcohol for a gift and it’s simple just to give cash or a card.

My husband and I are scaling back on our spending. What are some fun inexpensive date ideas we can try? – Thrifty Wife

Thirty Wife,

The most fun inexpensive thing you can do is enjoy each other and enjoy your home. You can attempt to cook dishes for each other, go on walks/jogs, movie night via Redbox, have potlucks with friends, go and tour different cities in your vicinity, and go to the museum to name a few.
