Lyrically Inclined
I know often it’s hard to be optimistic during the storms of your life and still remain thankful. The first thing that comes to mind when faced with a hardship isn’t to praise God for what He’s going to do and how He will see you through; half the time all we see is the present. The song I am sharing today puts that all in perspective by showing how we should praise God in advance for his blessings, grace, and mercy. Constant praise receives the most blessings. Praise him for not what He’s done; not for He’s doing, but for what He is going to do.
Praise Him In Advance, Marvin Sapp:
I’ve had my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around, God came and spoke these words to me: “praise will confuse the enemy.”
I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing, they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.
I have my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around, God came and spoke these words to me: “praise will confuse the enemy.”
I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing, they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away.
That’s why I praise him with my hands, that’s why I praise him with a dance, He’s given me a second chance, come on lets praise him in advance.
That’s why I praise him with a song, when things are right and when they’re wrong, He’s given me a second chance, come on lets praise Him in advance…

I haven’t heard this song before…I really like the words. The part of the song I have to remember is that praise DO confuse the enemy. I know personally when I am down it is hard to continue praising but thats ultimately where my breakthrough comes from.

I love the lyrics. I will have to listen to some of these songs because I have never been a fan of gospel music, but reading the lyrics have peaked my interest.
