G.O.S.S.I.P. Sister

I just returned back to Texas from a trip back home in Cali so my schedule is off, hence why this blog wasn’t posted on Sunday as usual, but I’m glad that I wasn’t proactive because it was during this trip home where I got the inspiration for this week’s blog.

Usually on the plane I look forward to going straight to sleep! Soon as I get the okay I turn on my iPod I let the tunes take me to Dream Land.  On my way to Cali, however, I could not get comfortable and kept waking up, so I turned to my left and took a gaze out the window.  What I saw was the most amazing view I think I’ve ever seen: a blanket of white fluffy clouds, perfectly pillow-shaped and clustered together to form a dividing layer between the ground and the sky. It was absolutely beautiful; words cannot express it any other way.  On the way back to Texas I did the same thing at one point of the flight- just gazed at the clouds reflecting on life and my dreams.  The clouds in the sky looked like heaven, so it made me think what it would be like to live eternally there.  I thought to myself- “I want this view forever, man.”

There’s an expression that the younger generation uses when we refer to something not to be missed out on that goes- “Don’t sleep!” (Don’t sleep on “such-n-such’s” new album, or don’t sleep on the new iPhone!) So I want to say don’t sleep on the simple things in life either.  Something as simple, yet beautiful, as clouds allowed me to sit back and reflect on the Earth’s beauty that God has created, the beauty of my imperfect life, and made me want to slow down and take my time to achieve every single dream and goal that I have placed in my purpose-driven life.  We go through life so fast; we jump from one thing to the next without any valuable downtime.  We skim by all the simple and beautiful things in life; we sleep on the natural beauty God has created in our lives.

Life is fragile, yet tough; life is so short; yet so long; so DON’T SLEEP on the small beauties we are given in life… This won’t last forever.
