PROCRASTINATION
As ‘Christian’ woman we have to be on top of our routine! To be a Proverbs 31 woman it says to rise early in the morning and prepare for the days work. To make sure the children are cared for and that the business of the household is in order. A Proverbs 31 woman is also a praying woman who prays over her marriage and household and respects her husband. I say all of this to say it is time out for procrastination. This topic is ESPECIALLY dear to me because I used to believe I work best under pressure hence I would procrastinate until the deadline came. I have to get it together. I will be married 6/6/09 and I can NOT continue to procrastinate. I heard somewhere before that God despise procrastination because as Christians we should be prepared and ready.
Apart of being prepared as a Christian is reading and studying the word on a regular basis. Doing our Christian duties like helping those in need. Spreading the good word and inviting others to Christ. Satan is busy so when he comes with his attacks it won’t phase us because we are already prayed up and prepared. We can call on God and stand on the word we have studied.
Procrastination does NOTHING but add unwanted stress to your life. It makes one look incompetent and ill-equipped. It causes increased anxiety and pressure to get the task done on time and correctly. We all have a calling and a purpose. We have to be proactive in seeking what that calling and purpose may be. When God speaks to us He want to know that we will act immediately and not at the last minute. In the biblical days when He spoke – people responded. They didn’t wait until the flood to build the ark; they built it years before the FIRST rain drop!
When we pray and ask for blessings we must make sure we have done our part (He WILL do His). I have noticed that I am more successful when I prepare and have a plan whether it is for a test, a new life adventure or G.O.S.S.I.P. Sister. Having the habit or skill of procrastination in no way give glory and honor to God. Like the saying go “when you fail to plan, you plan to fail” and it is so true.
Make procrastination a thing of the past. Going forward be determined to be pro-active in ALL aspects of life be it career, school, and relationships. Make calls early, enroll early, start the task early, and go to church on time. Prepare, prepare yourself for what is about to take place. Don’t wait until the last minute you never know what obstacles you may face. Until next time…
Be Blessed

I too, say I work well under pressure, which allows me to procrastinate on a lot of things. I didn’t know that procrastination is not favored by God! Just think if God procrastinated when we have a prayer request or He procrastinated on blessing us when we need it most? Ha! I bet we wouldn’t like that huh?!
It is true to realize the procrastination in all areas of life and to nip it in the bud… It’s bigger than just putting something off, it’s planning to fail!
Good topic!

Procrastination is my hardest habit to break. It is just one of my biggest struggles. As I type this comment, I have a million and one things to do. I am no different from any other procrastinator telling myself that I work better under pressure.
Gotta break the hold procrastination has on me
