God Is Good (With an Extra “O”)
I have a testimony to how good God has been, and I honestly cannot keep it to myself!
I have (2) 100% commission-based gigs. One of which is a passion of mine, and self-owned business: Simply Classic PRoductions (a PR and event planning company). The other is an independent sales & marketing agent for Aflac. Both of them pay me when I produce results. Being an entrepreneur sounds glamorous, but it is hard! No worries, I am determined and ambitious, but I’m sure you can imagine the pressures of generating a constant and wealthy paycheck on your own.
With that said, I have been going back and forth for the last month and a half with my financial aid department at my graduate school on the reimbursement I asked for. I was counting on this particular reimbursement to keep me comfortable until business picked up for me. After many failed attempts to get in contact with my financial aid officer I wanted to give up, but I persisted and finally talked to another officer in the department. She informed me that she doesn’t know when the reimbursement will take effect but when it does it would be distributed in small increments. I didn’t like that answer because at the end of the day that wasn’t going to help me at all! But, what could I do?! I accepted the answer and I accepted the fact that I was in trouble! Weeks went by and I disregarded any urges I had to call again.
Let me tell you when God shows up, He shows out! I randomly go to my mailbox today (which I avoid for long periods of time because all that ever receive are credit card offers and bills, and those two do NOT go hand in hand I’m learning!) In the mail I find a check written to me from my grad school’s financial aid department reimbursing me above and beyond what the financial aid officer originally informed me. Honestly I just broke down and cried right at my mailbox (people walking by and all). I was just amazed by what God will do. I always say things about how good God is and all the clichés of “He will step in right on time,” but I’ve SEEN it for myself more in these past few months than ever in my whole life.
All I can say is when you pray, sincerely pray and leave it to God. Give Him the glory and honor He deserves. And wait, I say, wait on the Lord!
Be Blessed
