At Your Best
How do you know you are at your best in life? When are we ever fulfilled in life? Life is such a growing process and I am constantly trying to better myself, learn more, do more, and achieve more. I, like many other people, are afraid of failure, but when I do fall, I get back up and continue to strive forward. I probably dream too big and aim too high, but who’s to say that I can’t do that? I don’t know what my “best” is so I’m always striving to top what I’ve already done before. I’ve read The Purpose Driven Life for guidance and insight, and I learned a lot from that book. One lesson that stuck out to me was that every ounce of talent that we have is to be used for the glory of God. We were put on Earth for a purpose, there was no mistake of our existence; none at all! The fact that we were placed into existence with a divine purpose in mind leads me to believe that our best is unlimited. There’s no limit to how great we can be, as long as the glory be to God. Our power is unstoppable. With that in mind, I am convinced that we will never know what our best is because we are bound to keep outdoing our best. Sometimes I cringe when people inquire on what I do? or Where I work? Etc. Mainly because I feel that as soon as I say “I got laid off in December 2008,” they’d automatically think “Aww poor girl. She’s not up to much.” Contrary to that belief, my mind has been far from idle. I have got so much stirring up in my pot that I can’t even talk about it all, because 1) some wouldn’t believe me and 2) some may think the nerve of her to think she can do that?!
In what ways are you striving to be your best? And how do you plan to surpass your best?
Be Blessed

Well, like I said earlier, I didn’t have quality parents. What that experience taught me was that I had no one to rely on but myself. So, like you, I have huge dreams! I encourage and congratulate myself because most of my goals, thus far, have been achieved. I know it is God who has allowed me to reach the potential he placed in me, despite my upbringing. I always think about the quote by Aylana Vanzant, “We are born exactly into the circumstances we need to be in to become the person we are meant to be.”
Right now I am watching a St Jude Hospital special on TV. It is so sad seeing all of these near terminally ill children. It reminds me that no matter how bad one’s circumstances are, it could always be worse.
We should always be grateful for everything we have, especially our health. To show our gratefulness we should always work on growing and improving to become our best self.
