The Greatest Command
The greatest command God has for us is to love our neighbor as we would love ourselves. Galatians 5:14 goes on to say that if we keep biting and devouring each other, we will be destroyed by each other! Love is a powerful thing! And when I think about it, it makes more sense than ever when people say “you must first love yourself before you can love someone else.” If you don’t love yourself right or at all, then you can’t fulfill the greatest command of loving others because you simply don’t know how!!!
Why argue with each other and get in full out battles with your sisters or brothers, playing tit-for-tat; what are you proving? Proving how hateful you can be? Or who can get the last stab? And all that for what? That’s not what we were commanded to do! That’s not what life’s about. It’s reminiscent to me of the popular Mark Twain quote, “Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.” You are no fool, so prove that!
I am not the one to claim to be holier-than-thou; I am seriously working on myself, step-by-step, and day-by-day. I challenge everyone else to do the same. When you get the urge to bite back, just step back, and remember Galatians 5:14; or ask yourself “what does it matter?” You’ll realize that it doesn’t matter at all. All the bickering; conniving; hating; backstabbing (or front-stabbing!); it doesn’t really matter in the end. Whether it’s in your family, friends, job, school, organizations, classes, etc. it does not really matter! Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you, Col 3:13; for it also says Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace, Ephesians 4:3.
It wasn’t until I got the following forward-to-X amount-of-people-email that I knew what the topic of this week’s blog should be:
LORD, there are some mean people in the world! When they focus their venom on me, give me courage to turn from revenge and trust You. “Getting even” is not my responsibility, and would hurt me in the end. Living in relationship with You is my responsibility. Help me learn to leave vengeance in Your hand where it belongs. And if their “due time” is a long time in coming, that is Your business.
You see, it’s not your business to even bite back at people; you need to stay in your place and let God work it out! However, I am not going to keep you long this time, just wanted to share what has been revealed to me and what I am starting to take very seriously. Surround yourself with positivity and avoid the negativity, then you won’t even have the energy or urge to “bite” back anymore.
Be Blessed.

I LOVE this blog. Sometimes we often forget to LOVE OURSELFS then OTHERS without conditions. This is alot harder doing then saying but it is so true. I am truly working on loving myself and others as GOD loves us. Again, love don’t cost a thing.

THIS IS AWESOME..
ON FEBRUARY 15, I REDEDICATED MY LIFE TO CHRIST.
WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, I WAS RAISED JEHOVAH’S WITNESS SO I AM WELL VERSED AND KNOW ALOT OF RELIGION. BUT, I DIDN’T LEARN RELATION. WHEN PEOPLE COME TO ME, OR AT ME, I CAN OPERATE SCRIPTURES BUT NOT LOVE.
I DIDN’T KNOW GOD LOVED ME. NO IDEA! I HEARD ABOUT HIS LOVE BUT NEVER KNEW IT. RIGHT NOW, SINCE MY NEW “BIRTHDAY” GOD USED THE MOVIE “FIREPROOF” TO TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE. NOW SINCE MY NEW “BIRTHDAY” HE IS TEACHING ME HOW TO LOVE MYSELF FIRST AND OTHERS.
