It feels so good to help people. I like to extend myself to others and make a positive impact on those that need it. My downfall however is asking for and/or receiving help. I don’t like that. It makes me uncomfortable to the fullest extent. In most cases, I suppose it’s just because if I’m “the helper” then I should be seen as just that, and not enlist the help of others. In the most extreme cases, I feel being helped hurts my pride, shows me as weak, and puts me in a vulnerable position. Keep reading »
A group of friends were talking the other day and the topic of chivalry came up…so today I am asking…
Does chivalry still exist? Are men still opening doors, walking to the left, lending a jacket? Are women too independent today making it hard for a man to be a man?

Almost everyone I know is literally going through some type of storm/battle be it mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually, etc. Saturday I took a pretty important test and didn’t pass. I had to just stop and laugh. I know the lady probably thought I was crazy, even Rob thought I tripping. Failing that test along with the other stuff thats going on right now would make it easy to give up, lose sight, and feel defeated. Keep reading »
I had the honor of being a guest speaker at a workshop tailored for teenage/young adult ladies. My topic was self-value and confidence tips. I just want to share my outline, because young or old we can all put to use some of life’s most valuable lessons. Below is the outline of what I presented. Keep reading »
I love being married. Even when I am stressed out with work and school I find serenity in Robert, he is my rock. It has been 9 months now that we have been married and exactly one year we have been in our home and each day gets better and better. Keep reading »
Last month I came across an article on Essence.com written by relationship advice expert, Steven James Dixon, called “10 Ways to Go from Girlfriend to Wife.” I found it quite fitting for Single & The City, and especially the bullet-point below:
Be a Godly Woman
There is just something sexy to me about a Godly woman. You want a Godly man, don’t you? The Bible is a relationship handbook. Read it. Follow it. Live by it. When your man is weak, you need to be able to refer to that word. When the Devil attacks, he needs to know that you know God. Keep reading »
You know they say we don’t get to pick our family but we do get to pick our friends. I just want to go on record saying I have some of the best family members and friends to last me a lifetime! I am truly blessed. Whenever I am down I can count on them to be there, and when I am up on top I know they are rooting me on and celebrating in my success. It is awesome to have friends who don’t compete with you but encourage you to do and be your best sincerely. I know many times I am typing inspirational messages but today I just want to stop and thank those who inspire me; the awesome friends and family in my life that accepts me for me (flaws and all), and allow me to be me openly. Friends and family who keeps it real with me whether I want to hear it or not…that alone is what makes my friends just like my family. So today I say thank you all…you know who you are and please know I love you all!
Be Blessed

Praise Break: A moment in the midpoint of the week just to stop and pay reverence, and seek encouragement to get us through the remainder of the week.
Proverbs 14:2
He whose walk is upright fears the Lord, but he whose ways are devious despises him.
Be Blessed
“I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy… So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”
That was John 16:20, 22.
I ministered with my dance company at church today to a song entitled JOY! Before each performance I find scripture s that tie into what piece we will be doing and that was one of the scriptures I shared with the other dancers. Keep reading »
