God is Not Finished

From our guest blogger, Cre:

One of my favorite people in the world asked me, “why don’t you still blog?” It clicked and I knew then that there was something I was supposed to be doing, and that was blogging.

So many times we get caught up in our own desires and what “I” need that we forget about others. My pastor (Craig) said it best, “if you have both hands full how can you help others?” It is better to have less of what doesn’t matter and more of what does. Ecclesiastes 4:6 Keep reading »

The Power of Forgiveness

Here’s a powerful quote on forgiveness:

Forgiveness asks us not only to forgive those who hurt us, but also Love them. And see that from their point of view, they are in tremendous pain and their act against us was just a very messed up request for Love. Keep reading »

How do you need to bring balance to your life?

Simple question: How do you need to bring more balance to your life?

Consider this quote as you answer this question for yourself:

“There is an Indian Belief that everyone is in a house of four rooms: A physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room everyday, even if only to keep it aired, we are not complete.”

Jesus Paid It All

…And like the song goes on to say- all to Him I owe!

Happy Resurrection Day to all who believe that Jesus took up his cross, was nailed to it, bled on it, and died on it, HOWEVER, 3 days later rose again! Happy Resurrection Day to you all that believe He is the way, the truth and the light.I am really excited this Easter because I, for the first time ever, observed Lent. By doing so it really made me reflect, reverence, and appreciate the selfless act of love that Jesus did for me years ago every single day for the past 40 days. Because I observed Lent & made my sacrifices of Starbucks, all coffee, social media, meat, etc., the purpose of Easter resonates in my soul. Last year I watched “The Passion of Christ” for the first time and I did so again this year, and I cringed, cried, shook my head in disbelief, and cried some more, all because I realized how unworthy I am, but yet, THANKFUL to be saved by the love, grace & mercy of Jesus Christ.

All to Him I owe!

What greater sign can any man show than with his own blood?

Blessings,

Humble & Patient

I was reading my daily email from “The Daily Love,” and today’s message really struck me. So much so I started crying! I feel compelled to share it because I can’t be the only one who can relate. I just can’t be! Keep reading »

Quotes to Live By

If you have a dream, a vision, or a passion to pursue and fulfill (we all should), then these quotes are for you. Often times the person holding us back is us.

“I learned you have to trust yourself, be what you are, and do what you ought to do the way you should do it. You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it.”

- Barbra Streisand, Grammy award winning singer, Academy Award winning actress.

“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”

- Confucius, was a great Chinese thinker and philosopher. Keep reading »

Spring Clean

Next month will bring us the First Day of Spring. What in your life do you need to clean up?

Think beyond your over-crowded closet, or dust-collecting souvenirs. Think about all that is crowded your life, mind, body and spirit. If you think about it- when your room/house is a mess, typically your life may be as well; at least for that moment. I don’t mean to offend, but personally, when a part of my house (especially my bedroom-where I have to lay my head & should be at peace while doing so) is messy and not kept up, there is some lack of time-management and priorities going on at that time of my life. Not only is my room a cluttered mess, but so is my mind. It becomes nerve-racking. Yet, as soon as I take the much needed time to clean up, my mind is instantly freed.

So, back to my question- What in your life do you need to clean up? Relationship drama? Work issues? Procrastination problems? Parenting skills? Friendships? Self-esteem and worth? Now is the time. A lot of people get caught up in New Year’s Resolutions and all of that, but there really isn’t a set time for you to get it together and start anew. You can ultimately do that every single day!

Blessings to You!

Black.

Black. A word often associated with dark, gloom, or bad. A word that was pinned on a certain race to categorize them based on their appearance. A word that many African-Americans may find offense in or may find to be controversial- “Why are we subjected to the darkest color in the crayon box?”

However, I have found a renovated outlook on the color Black. Black is power. Black is bold. Black is confident. Black is chic. Black is beautiful. Black is deep. Black is polished. Black is All That!

What is Black to you???

Happy BLACK History Month!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Don’t give all your love away today, save some for yourself. Self-Love is the best love. Strive to love yourself as God loves you: unconditional, flaws-n-all, strongly, boldly, & compassionately.

With Love,

Chon “Gossiper” Renee’
